BRENTA TREK - The amazing views in the Brenta dolomites Italy, the "Bocca di Tuckett" (Tuckett pass)
SEQUENCE OF OUR BRENTA TREK
1st day - The meeting point can be at your hotel at Lake Garda and then we will drive on with the minivan of our mountain guide. There is also the possibility to meet directly in S. Lorenzo in Banale (other possible meeting points to be agreed upon with the participants). From San Lorenzo the Brenta trek leads us through a canyon on a comfortable forest road which can also be used by jeeps. After an hour the valley is getting wider with colorful meadows, alpine environment and many animals. Here is the empire of the chamois and marmots, eagles and only recently ibex have been spotted again. In about three hours we reach the Rifugio al Cacciatore (hunters hut) where the food is still excellent even if there are no more hunters there now. The Brenta Trek continues after a snack and in two hours we reach Rifugio Agostini.
2nd day - Around 8 am in the morning we start from Rifugio Agostini and we hike on the Sentiero Palmieri which is flat at the beginning, after an hour we encounter the first steep slope of the Brenta trek. Then we move on to the Forcolotta di Noghera (Forcolotta means pass). Here we take a break to enjoy the panoramic view of the entire Brenta Group. The panorama extends to the Lake Molveno and later we descend on a serpentine path which ends up on a huge flat meadow adjacent to the majestic wall of the Cima Tosa. We turn right towards Rifugio Pedrotti alla Tosa (cappuccino or pastasciutta?) and in a quarter of an hour we reach the famous Bocca di Brenta. Here we are in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites and on the top of our Brenta trek. In the Middle Ages some witches used to live here and the local shepherds and hunters went to ask the for good luck and we are doing the same now! From here begins the "most difficult" line of Brenta treks: descent from Bocca di Brenta on a snowfield of which only the first 20 meters are steep. Then the trail is leading further downwards between rocks and equipped with cable until we reach a flat snowfield. From here we can admire the famous Guglia di Brenta and perhaps also the rock climbers on the walls of this fantastic pillar. In an hour we reach our destination of the 2nd day, the Rifugio Brentei. If the afternoon is boring for you, we may do a "hiking" to reach Rifugio Alimonta, the highest mountain hut in the Brenta Dolomites.
3rd day - From Rifugio Brentei our Brenta Trek goes down and on the most famous route of the Brenta Dolomites (Sentiero Bogani), we reach the Rifugio Casinei which is the lowest point of our Brenta trek (1,820 m) where a delicious cappuccino is almost compulsory. After the crossing of a forest with many waterfalls and meadows we are heading towards Vallesinella valley "on the tracks of the bears". Unfortunately we cannot see any bears since this species is only nocturnal but fresh tracks and deep scratches on the trees are very impressive. On a zigzag path we go upwards through a wild valley with many bear caves. Later and at the end of a relatively steep path suddenly appears Rifugio Graffer al Groste'. There are many tourists and even cyclists but the civilization after three hard days of Brenta Trek has also got its advantages: shower, good food, selection of wines.
4th day - After a rich breakfast we depart from Rifugio Graffer at 8.00 in the morning on a easy path which is a sking slope in the winter time. In about 40 minutes we reach the Passo del Groste': our last chance for an espresso or cappuccino. We are leaving civilization behind us and our Brenta Trek is taking us into in a lonely valley where our path is getting more narrow because it is the home of just a few animals. At first our path is lleading us between rocks and later on through colorful meadows up to Malga Flavona and on a comfortable forest road to Lago di Tovel. If you have dreamt a fairy tale in your childhood in which a small lake, a small inn, fantastic flowers and blue skies were the protagonists, then this dream has become reality now. The Lago di Tovel, the "Red Lake", has had a special famous feature in the world because it used to change its colour to red or blue under certain circumstances and on the basis of special bacteria. Your guide has often seen this phenomenon in his youth but unfortunately not anymore since 50 years.
5th day - Unfortunately today we are leaving this world of fairy tales and in the morning we go by taxi to S. Lorenzo in Banalef further on to Lake Garda or home; but we will certainly never forget in our whole life the happy days of our Brenta Trek .
Delio's home are the walls und routes in the Brenta Dolomites. He knows many climbing walls in the world but he is still proceeding on our Brenta trek with the same passion and reverence like he did as a child with his father who had introduced him into the world of forests, rock towers and animals. Delio can explain to you the history of every rock or plant in the Brenta Dolomites and he would like to pass on to you the his own mountain experience and passion for nature.

BRENTA TREK - Your guide has grown up in the Brenta Dolomites - he is an
internationally licensed mountain guide registered with UIAGM; English, German and Italian
speaking
